Windows Phone 7 emulator hacked for full functionality

Posted by Digital Electronics On March - 19 - 2010

Today I came across to an interesting article about Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and I want to share it with my readers.

“After some hours that Microsoft released the Windows Phone 7 series developer toolkit, someone ripped the full smartphone build from it and now the software has been hacked. It turned out that there is plenty more functionality in the emulator’s ROM than appears at first sight. It seemed that Microsoft have done some work to keep certain elements hidden from Windows Phone 7 users. Among the things discovered are a file explorer and a native task manager, over at xda-developers they’ve already discovered mention of cut, copy and paste functionality”. And all that information we got from Dan Ardelean, who has modified the BIN responsible for which features are accessible, bypassing Microsoft’s lock-down.

Intel X25-V Value SSD

Posted by Digital Electronics On March - 16 - 2010

Intel’s new 40GB X25-V Value SATA SSD is now available at $125. Significantly, it is  lower than the company have been charging for their previous ones.

The biggest issue is capacity as the X25-M only packs 40GB of storage, which I think is low no matter whether you’re looking at netbooks or anything bigger.Intel are positioning it more as a dualboot drive, with the expectation that users will keep the SSD for the OS and core applications and then store their data on a larger HDD.

In fact, they reckon if you did that – with Windows 7, Office and a game – you could see up to 43-percent faster overall system performance or an 86-percent improvement in gaming experience.

OO wireless projector concept Review

Posted by Digital Electronics On March - 10 - 2010

The projector uses a semi monocoque carbon fiber chassis and is designed by David Riesenberg. The designer says the projector throws a 1080p image sent to it via WiFi or from an internal SSD. The wireless bit is very cool because you could place it in your home without worrying about how you will get the HDMI cable to it.

The projector also sports some sort of internal battery that lets it work without an AC cord for up to three hours. Three adjustable legs are built-in to allow adjustment of the image. The OO certainly looks sexy.
