Acer AOD250-1613 Dual Boot Netbook Announced

The Android market is getting bigger by the day, with developers trying to prove that the open source operating system that has taken the mobile phone world by storm, is actually suited for netbook usage. And a very good example to back these things up, here’s Acer’s AOD250-1613, a dual boot 10-inch netbook that runs both Windows XP and Android.

Although not yet officially released, the new Acer AOD250-1613 has made it for pre-order on Amazon, with deliveries at a later time.

Specs wise, the AOD250-1613 comes with a 10.1″ WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite LED display, runs on a 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom processor, has 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM and a 160 GB 5,400 rpm SATA hard drive. On top of that, there’s Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g), an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and a 6-cell Li-ion battery (5800 mAh) that should get everything working for up to 9 hours.

Measuring in at 8 x 10.2 x 1 inches, the new Acer AOD250-1613 weighs only 2.8 pounds, should cost $349.99 — a damn good price considering there’s both XP and Android under the hood — and ships free.
