You can easily view used and free capacity on your flash drives. So, this concept, called USB Memory Stick #6, is a USB drive that will tell us what’s on the memory stick well before we put it into our computer.

The USB drive is made of glass and the whole idea revolves around colored lights that are housed inside the body of the drive. As you put items on your USB stick, the lights would activate to tell you what’s on the drive: the more you put on your drive, the more the lights would populate through the glass body.

Active Media Products has unveiled a new flash drive that is called the MotKey. The design of the flash drive makes it look like a normal key that would be on your key ring, assuming you car used a USB port to start. The case of the little flash drive is rubberized to prevent scratches and protect the drive from drops.

It is compatible with Mac and PC systems with USB 2.0 or 1.1 ports and the MotKey will work on Linux machines as well. It is available in 4GB or 8GB capacities on Amazon for under $25. The device measures 2.9″ x 1.2″ x 0.5″ and includes a key ring and a cord.

Kingston 512GB SSDNow V+ SSD Review

Kingston has now announced that it is adding faster and higher capacity SSDs to its line. The SSDNow V+ line all include Windows 7 Trim support and the SSDs are now available in up to 512GB capacity. The new line has sequential read speed of 230MB/sec and sequential write of 180MB/sec.

The drives are all 2.5-inch form factor units and use MLC NAND flash. Available capacities in the line are now 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The downside is the price of the larger capacity SSD kits. The 64GB bundle sells for $283, the 128GB sells for $528, the 256GB bundle sells for $1008, and the 512GB bundle is $1985. The drive alone in all capacities will save you about $20.

sprintu301-lgSprint in a quiet move today added a new hybrid 3G/4G modem for its WiMAX network. The U301 is a direct if minor update to the U300 and comes in a smaller black shell. Its most notable addition is Mac OS X support, which gives both Leopard and Snow Leopard users access to the high-speed mobile Internet service.

Like its predecessor, the new USB modem has a swiveling port to fit into tight spots and can connect at a typical 3-6Mbps in Sprint’s WiMAX coverage areas or 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps on EVDO Revision A-based 3G networks.
