Eurocom D900FEurocom D900F Panther is a quite the machine with a 17.1″ display (1920X1200 resolution).  Powered by an Intel Core i7 980X Extreme and/or Intel Xeon 5600 series processors and NVIDIA GeForce GO GTX 480M, GTX 285M or Quadro FX 3800M and Quadro FX 2800M high performance, fully upgradable MXM 3.0b video card.

SONY Vaio EE2E1E/WI Laptop Review

SONY Vaio EE2E1E/WIThe 15.6in EE2E1E/WI is one of the few laptops in Sony’s Vaio range with an AMD processor.

The laptop comes equipped with a 2.1CHz dual-core Athlon IIX2 P320, 3GB of RAM, 320GB of HDD and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics.

Tests show that EE2EE/WI failed to impress in Call of Duty 4, producing a frame rate of just 3.5fps. Battery life was also a disappointment at two hours and 44 minutes.

Its resolution of 1,366×768 gives plenty of desktop real estate and you can use the HDMI output if you want to watch 1080p video on an
HD TV. Sound from the built-in speakers is generally clear and loud, although the bass, as with most laptops, is underpowered. Read the rest of this entry »

Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 Laptop Review

Lenovo released 2 laptop models: IdeaPad Y460 and IdeaPad Y560. The first is the Y460 063347U in black with a Core i3-330M processor, Intel HD graphics, 4GB of RAM, 14-inch HD LED backlit screen, 320GB of storage, Bluetooth, WiFi and more. This version sells for $999.

The Y460 063346U is also available starting at $1,199. It runs a Core i5-520M processor, ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphics with 1GB of VRAM, 4GB of RAM, 14-inch HD LED backlit screen, WiFi, Bluetooth and more. Both machines have DVD burners and run Windows Home 7 Premium 64-bit OS.

Samsung’s Transparent OLED laptop is now available

Samsung Electronics reveals its first laptop featuring clear active matrix OLED display. Such laptops which  sport Samsung’s clear AMOLED allow the user to work and see objects placed behind the screen at the same time. The laptop’s display has a transparency that can go as high as 40%. Of course, the technology is still in the beginning stages but it is interesting to see if and how the screen will be capable of “switching off” the transparency, as end-users may not always want to see directly through it when playing media, reading documents or even playing games. HP Envy 15 Laptops with USB 3.0

USB 3.0 gear was everywhere at CES last week with all sorts of gear using the new and much faster interface. USB 3.0 hardware may be getting unveiled in droves, but computers and computer hardware to support the specification are still rather limited. HP has announced that it will include USB 3.0 support on select Envy 15 models.

The announcement makes HP the first major PC maker to ship USB 3.0 notebooks. An HP spokesperson told CNET that the HP online store does sell the Envy 15 with USB 3.0 when the notebook is equipped with ATI HD 5830 graphics and a quad-core i7 Intel processor. Read the rest of this entry »

Asus debuts ROG G73Jh gaming laptop at CES

Asus is the company that started the netbook craze when it unveiled its Eee netbooks a few years back. The little machines were soon on the market in droves and Asus rode the notoriety of the netbook to bring its other notebooks and gear into the mainstream in America.

The latest notebook unveiled by Asus at CES is called the ROG G73Jh gaming notebook. The machine is styled after the Lockheed F117 Nighthawk fighter with a matte black exterior and angular heat exhausts. The notebook runs the latest Intel Core i7 processor and can be fitted with up to 8GB of RAM.

Other features of the machine include 1TB of storage, ATI Radeon HD5870 mobile graphics, and support for EAX 4.0 and CMSS 3D surround sound. The screen is 17.3-inches and has a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Asus X77 Core i5-430M Gaming Laptop Review

The laptop is powered by a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5-430M  processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 graphics card, 1TB of HDD (2X500GB), up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and has a 1600 x 900 LED backlight display. ASUS X77 comes equipped with HDMI port, eSATA, a multi-format DVD burner and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
