HTC has announced a pair of new smartphones with Facebook branding.The cringe-inducingly named ChaCha and Salsa devices are the first to carry the logo of the world’s biggest social networking site. However, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg stated during the press conference that dozens of branded devices will appear this year.

Both handsets have a dedicated Facebook button under the usual buttons at the bottom of the handset. This smart shortcut button will have myriad uses depending on what you’re doing at the time. For example, it could upload a photo or video, share a web address or location, or post a link to a music track you’re listening to.

Research In Motion (RIM) announced their latest offering, the Blackberry PlayBook. The tablet which RIM CEO, Mike Lazaridis described as “the first professional tablet” has a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 multi-touch screen, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM and either 16GB or 32GB onboard storage capacity.

The PlayBook sports a 3MP front facing camera and a 5MP rear camera. It has got a microUSB jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an HDMI port. No word on when it will be available and at how much, but it looks quite promising.

The successor to the much popular Google Nexus One seems to have finally arrived, although not officially. The phone, which will be called as the Google Nexus S has been recently revealed by the CEO of Google at a recent meet. Even though he has failed to reveal any details about this phone, it has already been speculated that it could be the most powerful phone yet.

The Google Nexus S apart from being tagged as one of the most powerful phones, it also has another huge ace up its sleeve as it is the first phone to be sporting the latest version of the popular Android operating system. This phone will be running on the Android 2.3 or Gingerbread operating system. Unlike most of the other Android phones, this phone will not be using the traditional user interface method that is used to show the Android operating system. Nvidia has lacked a credible mid-range graphic card for too long, with ATI’s 4000- and 5000-series cards taking all the plaudits for the past two years. The GTX 460 marked Nvidia’s return to serious competition with arch-rival ATI.

Gigabyte’s GV-N450-1GI is based around Nvidia’s new GeForce GTS 450 chipset, and with cards on sale for £100 we’d hoped it would take on ATI’s aging HD 5770, which has recently been reduced to a similar price. The Desire is essentially HTC’s version of the Nexus One, which it also manufacturers. As we mentioned in the previous review, the main specifications of the two handsets are pretty much identical. However, unlike Google’s smartphone, it doesn’t support US 3G bands.

With a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 576MB of RAM, the Desire speeds through anything Android can throw at it. HTC’s Sense interface is a great improvement on the standard Android interface. The People app brings together all your contacts, across multiple services such as Google, Exchange, Facebook and Flickr, and automatically searches for duplicates and lets you merge them. Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T is affordable for an ultraportable. It offers nice performance, has excellent highdef video playback, and runs for over 6 hours on a battery charge. But it also has some ergonomic quirks.

The laptop comes equipped with an Intel Core i5430um CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 500GB 5400rpm HDD. Gaming frame rates from the Intel HD Graphics (measured in frames per second) were unplayable, landing in the teens.

The 15.6in EE2E1E/WI is one of the few laptops in Sony’s Vaio range with an AMD processor.

The laptop comes equipped with a 2.1CHz dual-core Athlon IIX2 P320, 3GB of RAM, 320GB of HDD and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics.

Tests show that EE2EE/WI failed to impress in Call of Duty 4, producing a frame rate of just 3.5fps. Battery life was also a disappointment at two hours and 44 minutes.

Its resolution of 1,366×768 gives plenty of desktop real estate and you can use the HDMI output if you want to watch 1080p video on an

Recently HTC introduced the world’s first 4G phone which will likely enter the market in summer.

The HTC EVO 4G will support streaming voice calls and data with blazing speeds. So let’s compare: 600Kbps (HTC 3G) vs 6Mbps (HTC 4G). Can you imagine the difference?

Besides 4G technology feature HTC Evo is also unique for its 8MP (instead of a 5MP) camera and HTC’s capacitive multi-touch with Sense UI.

HTC EVO 4G goes to the next generation with the Android OS, but just imagine a phone with Android and a 4G technology.
